Measure, do not guess. You will see the before and after boot time. If nothing improved, you should not be paying for it.

Power button to actually usable taking several minutes is the classic sign, and it is usually the drive or startup bloat.
Everything lags, fans roar
Overheating from dust makes the machine throttle itself down on purpose. Cleaning it out is often a real fix.
Programs freeze constantly
Not enough memory, too much running at startup, or a drive struggling to keep up.
It got worse over a few years
Gradual decline is normal and usually reversible. Sudden decline is different and worth checking for a failing drive.

Drive health first, before anything
A failing drive is the number one cause of slow, and if that is what yours is, the tune-up is the wrong purchase. I check this first and tell you before going further.
Cut the startup bloat
Everything that quietly set itself to launch at boot. This is usually the biggest single win on a machine that takes forever to reach the desktop.
Scan for malware
Slow is very often an infection. If that is what it is, we are in different territory and I will say so.
Physical clean and repaste if needed
Dust out of the fans and vents, because a hot machine deliberately slows itself down. Fresh thermal paste if it still runs hot after.
Updates, cleanup, measure again
Windows updates, disk cleanup, then I time the boot again so you can see what actually changed.
When a tune-up is the wrong thing to buy.
If your drive is the bottleneck, no amount of cleanup fixes it, and the honest answer is an SSD at $89 plus the drive rather than a $79 tune-up. That is more money and I will still tell you, because the tune-up would not have worked and you would have been back.
And some machines are below the floor entirely. Roughly 2013 to 2017 budget models with memory soldered at 4 GB or less and eMMC storage instead of a real drive cannot be meaningfully improved by anybody. If yours is one of those, I tell you for free, before you drive anywhere, because charging $49 to say a machine is dead earns exactly one bad review.

How much is a computer tune-up?

Will a tune-up actually make it faster?
On a machine slowed by bloat, dust, or heat, yes, and you will see the boot time difference. On a machine whose drive is worn out, no, and I will tell you that before you pay rather than after.
My computer is old. Is it worth it?
Sometimes yes and sometimes genuinely no. Certain budget models from roughly 2013 to 2017 cannot be improved by anyone because the memory is soldered and the storage is eMMC. I check the model and tell you for free before you make the trip.
What is the difference between a tune-up and an SSD upgrade?
A tune-up cleans up what is running. An SSD upgrade replaces the part that is actually slow. If your drive is the bottleneck, the SSD is the real fix at $89 plus the drive, and the tune-up would be wasted money.
