PS5 cleaning & repaste · Del City, Midwest City, Moore & Choctaw

PS5 sounds like a jet engine?

Flat $99 for a deep clean and liquid-metal repaste. A console that roars or shuts itself off mid-game is almost always dust and dried out thermal compound, not a dead machine, and it is a genuinely fixable problem.

If yours does not need it yet, I will tell you. A console that is merely a bit loud is not automatically a $99 job.

Does this sound familiar

Is this what yours is doing?

If one of these matches, you are in the right place. If none of them do, tell me anyway, because the list is not exhaustive.

Fan roaring on the menu screen

It should be near silent doing nothing. Loud at idle means heat it should not be fighting.

Shuts itself off during games

Thermal shutdown protecting itself. This is the console telling you clearly that it is overheating.

Hot air, hot casing

Blocked airflow from dust packed into the heatsink and fan.

It sat in a cabinet for years

Enclosed spaces and carpet are the two fastest ways to fill a console with dust.

What I actually do

The work, step by step.

Not a black box. This is the actual order of operations on the bench.

1

Full teardown and clean

Down to the heatsink. The dust that matters is packed in where you cannot see or reach it from the outside.

2

Remove the old compound

Factory liquid metal dries out and migrates over time, which is exactly why an older console runs hotter than it did new.

3

Fresh liquid-metal repaste

Applied carefully, because liquid metal is electrically conductive and a spill onto the board kills it. This is the step that demands a steady hand, not speed.

4

Reassemble and test under load

Back together, then run it hard and confirm it stays cool and quiet before it goes home.

Where the line is

Screwdriver work yes, soldering no.

Cleaning, repasting, fan replacement, PS5 M.2 storage installs, and PS4 drive swaps are all things I take. A broken HDMI port is not, because that is microsoldering, and learning microsoldering on your console is not something I am willing to do. If that is your problem I will diagnose it, tell you plainly, and point you at somebody who does it properly.

Same answer for controller stick drift and disc drive laser work. I would rather turn down the job than take your money and hand back something worse.

The price

Flat, and posted up front.

PS5 deep clean and liquid-metal repaste $99
PS5 M.2 storage install just ask
PS4 drive to SSD swap just ask
HDMI port repair not offered, referred out

Flat $99 covers the teardown, full clean, old compound removal, fresh liquid-metal repaste, reassembly, and a load test before it goes back to you. Thirty day warranty on the work.

Who you are handing it to

One person, start to finish.

Dominic Stroder, who does the computer repair at Stroder Web Services in Del City, Oklahoma

I am Dominic. The person who answers your text is the person who opens your machine and the person who hands it back. There is no counter, no ticket number, and nobody to get passed along to.

That is also why the prices are flat and posted. One person with a bench does not need to build an hourly meter into the quote to cover a storefront.

Where I work

Del City and the east metro.

The bench is in Del City. I answer texts 9am to 9pm any day, and evenings and weekends is best for the actual hand-off. The price is the same whichever town you are coming from.

Laptops: the sticker on the bottom. Desktops: the side or back of the tower. It tells me exactly what parts your machine takes.

A photo of that sticker and one of the problem itself help a lot. Straight from your phone camera is fine.

Straight answers

Questions worth asking.

How much to clean and repaste a PS5?

Flat $99. That covers the full teardown, cleaning, removing the dried out old compound, a fresh liquid-metal repaste, reassembly, and testing it under load before you get it back.

Why is my PS5 so loud all of a sudden?

Almost always dust packed into the heatsink plus factory liquid metal that has dried out and migrated over the years. The console works harder to stay cool, so the fan runs harder. It is fixable and it does not mean the console is dying.

Is it dangerous to repaste a PS5?

Done carelessly, yes, because liquid metal conducts electricity and a spill onto the board destroys it. That is exactly why it is done slowly and carefully rather than quickly. It is also why I am upfront that this is the job that demands the most care on my bench.

Can you fix my HDMI port?

No. HDMI port replacement is microsoldering, and I am not going to learn it on your console. I will diagnose it, tell you honestly that is what it is, and point you to somebody who does that work properly.

Do you work on Xbox or older PlayStations?

Cleaning and drive swaps on older consoles, generally yes, so ask. The line is the same everywhere: screwdriver work yes, soldering no.
